Boot Camp for Academics

Academics gathered in Newsplex the week of May 4 for a software boot camp that gave them an introduction to a variety of software programs, including Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, Audacity, Visual Communicator, Windows Moviemaker and several others.

The seminar was organized and led by Prof. Augie Grant of the USC School of Journalism and Mass Communication.  Universities represented in the class included Claflin, Campbell, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech.

Doug Fisher of the USC journalism faculty taught several sessions as well as produced an audio slide show in which seminar participants described their experiences in Newsplex.
