Midwestern Newspapers Turn to Newsplex

Journalists at three Midwestern newspapers owned by the Small Newspaper Group are gaining new media skills, thanks to on-site Newsplex training.

In the second week of February, Newsplex travelled to Rochester, Minnesota to meet the staff of the Rochester Post-Bulletin to discuss convergence and how to reorganize their newsroom.

Two weeks later, the staff went to Moline, Illinois to visit the Rock Island Argus/Moline Dispatch. Those who took part in the training sessions learned how multimedia journalism helps to tell a better story online than just words.

The training wraps up in May with a week-long session in Kankakee, Illinois at The Daily Journal.
